Here is my Paint project that I am submitting in The CSI Project! It started out as an organizing project. I purchased a peg board at Lowes a few weeks ago and one night before I hung it up, decided it needed to be jazzed up from its boring brown. So I spray painted it white. I noticed that it soaked the spray paint up, so it didn't end up coming out white-white...but white enough for me. Then while watching TV, I painted the Swirly 'Fiddleheads' (thats what I call them....its fiddlehead season) all over in black. I have been on a black and white kick in this room. I think it goes nice with the red walls.
After I painted my board and hung it up, I added my hooks and baskets. I like that everything can be moved and changed up. After I did this....I decided my sewing desk needed a new paint job....so I tried the same thing!
Here it is before I put my sewing machine back on it. I also forgot to get a before photo. I remembered after I got it halfway painted black. I decided to do the opposite with the colors. I LOVE it!
It looks SOOOOOO GOOD! (well, at least I think so!)
It was fun to paint too =)

Both are beautiful!!! What a great idea to paint the pegboard! Did you free hand the swirlies?
It looks great! It actually looks like you put fabric over it!
I came over from The CSI Project!
LOVE IT! I have a peg board over my machine and it is so very useful. Mine is simply bright white, but I love the swirls.
i love that!! i need to do this...but i have to take everything off of my peg board!! lol as soon as i get the lazies out...my peg board will be getting a makeover! love how you painted the sewing desk to coordinate too!
(stopping over from the csi project!)

Gorgeous!! Wishing I had a room like that!!
I love how you "accessorized" the peg board by painting on it. Cute! Stopping over from The CSI Project.
So creative and you did an amazing job!!
What a great idea! I have a piece of pegboard here just waiting to be hung--and I think it may need some "swirlies" first!
Desk looks awesome too!!
Your pegboard is so cute. Love love love those neat swirlies. A room I'd love to work in. :) I'm visiting from The CSI Project. :)
totally cute! I'm going to try this! :)
That looks amazing! I love the design!
WOW! Thanks everyone for all the comments!
*Jenni R.-Yes, I free-handed the swirlies. I did a quick sketch on a piece of paper first to see what I wanted to do...then I free-handed everything while watching The Big Bang Theory!
I love my peg board and my sewing desk.It def. adds more interest to my room. I can actually see my peg board from my living room.
Absolutely gorgeous! I can't believe you free-handed the swirlies! Great job!
How cute. I could use a peg board myself. I have sewing stuff all over the place. I love your painting skills on it too.

Wow! I LOVE it! I also love your red walls! I was tempted to paint my bedroom red but it was such a pain when I did it at my old house that I decided to decorate with red accents instead. Your pictures have me thinking about painting again though! I am now following your blog. I can't wait to see what else you come up with!
I love this!! I am currently trying to get my craft space jazzed up (as jazzed as it can be in the basement) and more organized. I'm really jealous looking at this right now! ;) I may have to use these pictures as inspiration on my blog! (But I'll let you know if I do...)
What wonderful projects! I love your style!!! The swirly fiddleheads are wonderful -- You are talented in more areas than sewing! You have a great craft room. I would say it's very inspirational for you. I'm also tryin gto see what type of rod you have your ribbon affixed to -- A lot of my ribbon just has a "tiny" little opening to stick it through anything. Are you using a small doll rod? So much inspiration in one post! Thank you for following me. It is giving me the opportunity to follow you in return. Feel free to link up any project each week at the Boardwalk Bragfest every Wednesday!
*Megan-Thanks! You should try the red...it def. makes the room cheery and more interesting to be in.
*Kimberly-I think it would be a fun project to jazz up your basement craft space! It would be a challenge. You are more than welcome to use my photos as inspiration, just let me know so I can check out your blog!
*Jan- Thank you so much! I do like to do all kinds of crafts besides sewing. As for my ribbon holder it is a really skinny curtain rod! I pulled it open to the longest is could be. As for the ribbon spools, most fit, some were a little smaller, but I took a pair of scissors closed and shoved it into the hole and twisted, so it enlarged the hole on the spool. Worked perfectly! I have a hook that I need to screw in the wall to help hold the rod up, but haven't gotten around to it. So I just have a thick dowel painted black (from another project) holding it up for now.
I will def. take you up on the offer to link up to your parties! So much fun!
Have a great day everyone!
This si so amazing. Ihave been tossing around ideas to organize my craft area and this is the one I want to do (now to find the time). You are awesome!
Stopping by from the CSI project.
